ZEFIRO

The ZEFIRO is a next-generation rod for live bait fishing and more, which could be described as "Smart."
In designing this rod, we took several factors into account, requiring numerous prototypes and field tests to arrive at the final version available on the market today. In fact, when we create something new, we're always very demanding, and if we add a new model to our collection, it has to have something special... This new rod therefore had to have more than one quality:

- it had to be able to handle all the most commonly used leads with 400-750g live bait, and with a little care, even a little more.
- it had to have a fun and exciting action on small prey, but if necessary, it could also handle and finish a fight with a super-sized 30kg amberjack (and we can assure you it has already done so...).
- this powerful backbone had additional reserves to push even harder when fishing for prey that tend to burrow (e.g., grouper) or when fishing in difficult places with obstacles where the fish could get stuck once hooked.
- a tip action that always tends to apply a certain force, so that even if a tuna (which is always possible when trolling) comes across it, it can tire it out.
- just the right amount of power to ensure effective hooking, giving the sensation of a well-placed strike: crisp and clean. This is one of the aspects that required the most attention in the design: finding the ideal balance between parabolic action and tip action.
- that it could handle even thin lines (to catch increasingly wary prey), thanks to a progressive, gradual, and never abrupt elasticity.
- that it be easily transportable, so it can be reliably and stably disassembled from the butt section.
- A reel seat that can handle even small reels like the Gladiator CUB20.
- Fuji guides that are slightly larger than usual to easily accommodate knots and joints, as well as braided lines.

We believe this model has met all these needs, even if it wasn't easy.
In our opinion, the Zefiro almost transcends the concept of rod weight classification. If we really had to define it, we could think of it as a 12-pounder, but it's still a versatile rod; a single rod can be used for multiple purposes, with obvious economic advantages.
But nothing has been left to chance in this model, starting with the length: 215 cm, the ideal length for keeping the line away from the boat in case of obstacles at the stern, but also excellent for using two rods at the same time, where this length distances the two lines further to avoid snags. It's also ideal on dinghies, perhaps with rod holders near the helm; in this case, raising and lowering the lead will be easy given the length. Fighting will be easy and natural. Very light and balanced thanks to the use of cutting-edge materials, so much so that fishing with a rod in hand is not a problem, making fishing truly enjoyable. A refined and innovative yet understated look.
The Acid-type rig was carefully designed for perfect line management and minimal stress, wrapped with the "Doppia Forza Italcanna" system. Additional features include an Extralight handle with a diameter designed for easy extraction on all common rod holders, a metal gimbal, a CompositeBond reel seat attachment, and a new, exclusive Italcanna locking system on the blank.

The new Zefiro 20 is now also available, allowing for leads from 500 to 900 g.
